June Concert and Workshop in Canterbury Cathedral Festival

This is an event which might interest your singers – it is a concert with participation, plus a workshop. Part of our Questions of Space Festival of Ideas. Booking is online, direct link on the flyer, £2. It would be lovely if you can tell your people about this. All are welcome and we would love a big audience for the concert!

Amici rehearsal news and two interesting concerts

19th May 2016

Dear Amici

thank you so much for your wonderful singing last night – such a great rehearsal!

Next week we will aim to cover the Laudaumus Te and then revisit Steal Away, Battle of Jericho, Exultate Jubilate, The Healing Light and of course I Got a Robe.

 There is NO rehearsal on the 1st June as this is half term week.

 Also – 

 Saturday 21st May – 7.30 at the Augustin Hall (Christ Church Library on the ring road) there is a concert to celebrate 130 years of the Salvation Army in Canterbury. 

 Sunday 22nd May – 3pm at the Church of St Cosmus in Blean – A Spring Sing concert featuring Canterbury Ladies Choir, Canterbury Voices and Soloists.

Amici plans for summer term

11th May 2016

Dear Amici

many thanks for your fantastic singing this evening – I am really enjoying working with you all.

As mentioned during this evening’s session, we will be giving an end of term concert on Weds 29th June from 6.30pm. We will rehearse as usual from 5.30 before the concert.

Our repertoire for the concert will include the following:Exultate Jubilate


  • Laudamus Te
  • The Healing Light
  • The Battle of Jericho
  • Steal Away
  • I Got A Robe
  • Sometimes I Feel Like A Motherless Child
  • Every Time I Feel The Spirit

Next week we will be having a look at ‘I Got A Robe’ and ‘Laudamus Te’ and we will continue to work on the repertoire we have so far covered (Jericho, Steal Away, Exultate Jubilate and The Healing Light).

Monday Music – dates for the summer term

Dear All

Hope you have all had a good holiday and are looking forward to more joyful Monday singing !!  I have had quite a few e mails asking for dates for next term so here they are :

  • April   18, 25
  • May.   9, 16,  23
  • June   6, 13, 20, 27
  • July.    4, 11, 18

As before it will be £2.50 per session or £30.00 for term.  Cheques made payable to Canterbury Cantata Trust as usual please.

On Monday 16th May we will be singing at the Beaney again instead of St Paul’s.
