Monday Music

Monday Music was set up to promote the benefits of singing for well-being. Its 65 or so members are mainly residents of Canterbury and its surrounding areas who meet once a week to sing together.

The choir was originally a project choir, intended to run for one academic term. But as numbers grew and the choir flourished, it became a regular fixture in its members’ lives and is still going strong after several years. Together we’ve performed concerts in St Gregory's Centre for Music and Westgate Hall, Canterbury.

There’s no need to be able to read music, as Monday Music doesn’t use sheet music but we do use lyric sheets. Our wide repertoire is built around familiar music, new music and simple, fun rounds.

Membership Fee

The membership fee is £2.50 per week or £30.00 per term, and can be paid weekly or per term, by cash, cheque or online.

Pay online

After running a trial for online payment of subscriptions with the Canterbury Cantata group we are now extending this to the Amici Chorus and Monday Music. We would very much like you to use this new method of payment as it will reduce the amount of administration, avoid visits to the bank with large numbers of cheques and amounts of cash, and it provides better record keeping. To make your payment please go to the Shop menu item where you will also find more detailed instructions. Online payments should not be used for weekly payments for Monday Music, these will continue to be collected by cash. Payments are made via PayPal, either through a PayPal account or directly from your credit card without enrolling into PayPal. Please don't select payment by cheque (check). You will receive a receipt from both the Canterbury Cantata Trust and PayPal. Please bring your receipts to the first rehearsal just in case there are problems - this is very new to us!

Gift Aid

Please read the instructions about Gift Aid on the Shop page. If you are eligible to sign up for Gift Aid you can do this by clicking on the Gift Aid box on the Check Out screen.  Alternatively you can download the Canterbury Cantata Trust gift aid declaration form by clicking this link. Please hand in the completed form at a rehearsal or post to the Trust at our contact address. For more information contact the Membership Secretary: Maggie Smith
