Farewell from Kerry

Dear Amici

thank you all so very much for your wonderful singing, kindness and generosity during my spell with the choir. I hope you have enjoyed the repertoire and that you feel confident with the Bach (so far). I have enjoyed every second and am very grateful to you all.

I will definitely be along to hear you perform (and may join in with the altos if I am allowed).

Happy singing!

with love

Message from Grenville

Cari Amici,

I do hope that you have enjoyed and continue to enjoy a wonderful summer. We have had a very interesting time in France sheltering from the relentless sunshine and praying for rain…to date none has arrived. I very much look forward to our first rehearsal together on the 28 th September and thank Kerry for beginning the Bach journey tomorrow.

Please encourage as many of your friends to join/ rejoin Amici. Bach.’s extraordinary  St Matthew Passion is magnificent, challenging and moving and at times requires two choruses to produce question and answer responses to to allow the drama to unfold. The performance will take place from 15.00 on April 9th 2017.

News for AMICI NEW TERM

Dear Amici singers,

I hope you have all had a relaxing and sun-filled summer and are full of energy for the new term of singing ahead leading to the Christmas performance. It is always lovely to return to singing after the break and feel the benefits of breathing life into our lungs again!

Amici commence rehearsals with Kerry next Wednesday 14th September at 5.30pm at St Paul’s Church to start work on Bach’s Christmas Oratorio in readiness for the concert on December 21st. Maggie has kindly organised ordering the scores which will be the Barenreiter Urtext edition at £10 each., so you will be able to collect these at the rehearsal.

Subscriptions remain at £25 per term or £70 for the year once again and for those of you eligible for gift aid, if you have not filled in a form for this, please help us to make your money work even harder for the trust by making sure you do so this term.

Payment method

Please could you help us out by bringing along your payment as a cheque rather than cash and placing cheques in a sealed envelope with your name written on the outside and the amount (and what it is for). It would also be really helpful if cheques for the subs and music could be separate so as to make the gift aid claiming easier.

Thank you so much for your co-operation in this as it is no mean feat collating all those payments, and thanks are due to Anthea for her extremely well organised system . If you could make payments on either the 14th or 28th that would be a great help as Anthea will be away on the 21st.

Finally, look out for news coming soon on the fantastic new website taking shape thanks to Ben Knox: a great improvement!

See you all soon,

Best wishes,

Roshna Ahmad.
